Day 4 of Thanks!

What a busy Monday!

As I get ready to go to turn in for the evening, I am catching up on Facebook and reading all the posts from friends about what they are thankful for. 

Today I am thankful for my teachers....old and new. I am thankful for being able to read what my friends are thankful for and understanding what they mean. As a teacher, I listen to what students say and wonder if they really understand the power of the wealth of knowledge we are giving them. Sometimes I wonder if they truly understand how important what we teach them is. I guess I probably was the same way at their age...but at the same time, I also see how many children aren't allowed to be children anymore...

How do you think children today think? Do you think they are thankful for the teachers they have and what they have to teach them?

Day 3...What I am Thankful for on This Sunday!

Today I am thankful for the ability to get up and run! I don't always feel great about this...but I know that by getting up on Sunday and doing what I know is right for me makes me feel thankful for this ability. I know there are so many who are not for whatever reason able to do this...And it was such a beautiful morning.
We ran the Mount Vernon Trail and we tried a different starting point. Man, was it hilly!! I know I will be feeling it tomorrow. I actually run next to Craig the entire way...This is the first time we have ever done that. I always feel that I hold him back...but since he isn't training for a marathon right now, he felt he could take it slow with me. I complained the entire way...I know I was annoying him. But at the end of it all...I ended up doing 8 miles instead of the 7 I was scheduled to do. AND...I ended up shaving 5 minutes off my previous 8 mile run in August.
Even though, I constantly complain about how long this journey is taking, I know that I am getting stronger...and faster...and slimmer.
Running is helping me to meet my goals...and I love the fact that I able to get up every Sunday morning and hit the trail. Thank God that He has blessed with me with this ability for now...

Here I am...not looking my best after 8 miles...but still smiling.

November Blog Challenge at Kellybell Designs

The end of the year is fast approaching. With all the holiday festivities coming up, things can get pretty crazy! This November Blog Challenge will be the last one for the year. Kelly is skipping December since it's such a busy month. With this challenge you get to be creative and select your own theme. Kelly's calling it a 'Surprise Me' challenge.

As a special treat, you'll be receiving 2 participation prizes for playing along. CT member Lisa and Jennifer have amazing treats for you. Everyone who submits a layout will receive these 2 participation prizes. And the most outstanding layout will receive a gift certificate to Kelly's store.

Here are the rules and instructions to participation in the Monthly Blog Challenge:

• Scrap a page where you select the theme from a Disney park or cruise. Surprise Kelly with your creativity in how you use her products. Make sure this is a new layout and not one you've already created.
• You can use as many photos as you want and include as many elements and papers that you choose. We want to see your creativity sparkle!
• Layouts should be made with 100% Kellybell products or freebies (you are allowed to use a template from another designer). You are welcome to submit more than 1 layout.
• Post your layout into the Challenges Gallery at Kellybell Designs by midnight EST Nov 30th. Participation prizes will be sent to the email address you have listed with Kelly's gallery.

The most outstanding layout will be announced the first week of December. That's also when the participation prizes will be sent out.

Check your stash to see what Kellybell Designs kits you already own or take some time to browse through Kelly's store to see if you want to pick up a new collection to scrap with. Here are a few of Kelly's kits to use.

30 Days...Day Two

Today, I am thankful for my sense of humor.
I have to say that sometimes, it is this sense of humor really gets me through the day. And I love the fact that I have someone in my life who understands that humor and sometimes gets annoyed at it too.. LOL! Anyone who knows me knows that I always have something to laugh about and I always try to smile. Without my sense of humor, I would probably lead a pretty boring life...just mt opinion!

While at Disney World in October, Craig bought this little Florida State helmet at Team Mickey in DTD. When we came back to the resort, i came out of the bathroom while taking another round of cold meds before my 10 miler and found Sock Monkey with the helmet on. No matter how bad I was feeling at the time, this made me laugh out loud! So when I came downstairs this morning to find this, it reminded me of this story and how my sense of humor started the whole Sock Monkey saga!

It's November...I am Thankful!

Well...it's November after I felt that October took FOREVER to get through...
As I was scanning through Facebook tonight, I came across a post that read Day 1 and then gave a quick post of what she was thankful for. This made me stop and think....what am I thankful for. So I did a quick Google search and found this... Instagram November Challenge #30thankfuldays The blog is Click It Up a Notch. I have never read this blog and when I read that the author is an Air Force wife and photographer, I got a little giddy!

Well...I am up for the challenge. This is something that I always wanted to try...and I figured when is a better time than now. Because it is an Instagram challenge, I will posting a pic on Instagram but I will write here a more detailed why.

So here it goes...

Day 1:

I am starting my Month of Thanks with being thankful for social media like, Facebook and Instagram. I love the fact that I am able to connect with people all over the place who have the same interest as me. I love that I can stay connected with friends and family across the miles! I love that I can share my triumphs...I can vent...I can just be me! I really think that without social media, I would have a really hard time keeping in touch with everyone on a regular basis. Where would we be without the internet? Don't worry though...I will still be sending out handwritten Christmas cards again this year.... :)
